Into Practice

Dive Into a Coach Approach® 3.0 | Live Implementation is a 10-hour hybrid course that moves your learning from peer practice into a real client relationship. You’ll coach one client through six extended coaching sessions, adapting the Dive Into a Coach Approach® methodology and tools to your area of practice and your client’s goals.

You’ll record one of these sessions and submit it for individualized Growth Feedback aligned with the eight ICF Core Competencies. This feedback will help you recognize your strengths, identify areas for continued development and refine how you apply your coaching skills in practice.

You’ll also participate in three live online small-group mentorship classes with Hélène at the beginning, midpoint and end of the course. These sessions provide structured opportunities to work through challenges, celebrate progress, revisit the ICF Core Competencies and explore how to apply coaching tools effectively within a real client relationship.

By the end of Into Practice, you’ll have applied a toolkit of more than 10 coaching tools and strengthened your ability to support a coaching engagement from the initial focus through completion. After meeting all course requirements, you’ll earn the Coach Approach in Healthcare Integration Certificate.

This course is designed for professionals who have completed both preceding levels of the Dive Into a Coach Approach® program:

• Goal Achieved | Level 1: Completion of Core Fundamentals and the Coaching Tools for Healthcare Bundle, earning the Coach Approach in Healthcare Professional Certificate.
• Second Nature | Level 2: Completion of Relationship & Technical Mastery, earning the Coach Approach in Healthcare Practitioner Certificate.

Class Recordings: All classes are recorded and remain available throughout the duration of the course.

Educational Level: Intermediate; designed for practitioners who have completed Level 1 and Level 2 and are ready to integrate a Coach Approach into a real client relationship.

This course is designed for healthcare and helping professionals who have completed the first two levels of the Dive Into a Coach Approach® program and earned both stackable certificates:

• Coach Approach in Healthcare Professional Certificate; Goal Achieved | Level 1, 20 hours
• Coach Approach in Healthcare Practitioner Certificate; Second Nature | Level 2: Relationship & Technical Mastery, 30 hours

• Earn the Coach Approach in Healthcare Integration Certificate and digital badge; complete Level 3 of the stackable certificate pathway, bringing your learning across Levels 1–3 to 60 hours of coaching education customized for healthcare and helping professionals
• 10-hour hybrid learning experience; structured across the January-to-May cohort period
• Six client coaching sessions; apply the Dive Into a Coach Approach® methodology with a matched client in your area of practice
• Three live small-group mentorship classes; receive guidance and support at the beginning, midpoint and end of the course
• Individualized Growth Feedback; submit one recorded client coaching session for detailed feedback aligned with the eight ICF Core Competencies
• Practical coaching toolkit; apply more than 10 coaching tools and customizable templates within a real client relationship
• Maximum of 10 participants; allowing for individualized guidance and meaningful small-group discussion

Instructional Methods: Live online small-group mentorship, individual coaching practice with an assigned client, recorded session review with individualized Growth Feedback and online self-directed learning.

By the end of this course, participants will practice and demonstrate the application of the Dive Into a Coach Approach® framework with their assigned client, adapting as needed the methodology to their specific area of practice.

• Participants will engage in active coaching sessions with their own assigned client, allowing them to practice and hone the core coaching competencies outlined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Through practical experience, they will develop and strengthen their coaching skills, including active listening, powerful questioning, and goal setting.
• By submitting one recording of a coaching session with their coachee, participants will receive personalized Growth Feedback from their instructor. This feedback will focus on the eight ICF core coaching competencies, providing valuable insights to enhance their coaching skills and effectiveness.
• Participants will analyze outcome measures and assess the impact of their coaching journey with their assigned client. This involves evaluating the progress, growth, and achievement of the coachee's goals, contributing to a deeper understanding of the coaching process and its effectiveness.

These learning objectives encompass a range of cognitive and practical skills, ensuring participants gain a comprehensive understanding of coaching and the ability to apply it effectively in their respective fields.

Q1. What is the total time commitment?

Into Practice (Level 3 – Live Implementation) takes place over approximately four months and includes 10 hours of structured course activity. You’ll coach one client through six extended sessions, participate in three small-group mentorship classes, submit one recorded session for individualized Growth Feedback and complete brief self-directed learning.

Plan to spend approximately 15–30 minutes reviewing the online content and coaching tools before the first mentorship class. You may also need approximately 5–15 minutes to prepare for each client coaching session.

Q2. How does Into Practice contribute toward an ICF ACC Portfolio Path application?

Into Practice (Level 3 – Live Implementation) provides five additional hours of coach-specific education and five hours of mentor coaching as part of the complete Dive Into a Coach Approach® program. All 10 hours of this course support you towards the ICF ACC Portfolio certification for those who are planning to acquire this.

Q3. What happens if I miss a class?

If you cannot attend a class, watch the recording and submit the associated learning and feedback form before the next class. Contact your instructor as soon as possible if circumstances prevent you from completing these requirements within the expected timeframe.

Q4. Who will I coach, and how are we matched?

Your client will be someone seeking coaching, generally within your area of practice or the broader field of health and wellness. Some clients apply through our Get Coached program, while others may be referred by you, a previous participant or someone within the Function First Coaching Inc. community.

Function First Coaching Inc. reviews the available information and coordinates a potential match based on factors such as goals, professional background and availability.

Q5. What if the client and I are not a good match?

Before confirming the coaching relationship, you and the prospective client will have an approximately 20-minute chemistry conversation. This allows both of you to explore the client’s goals, discuss expectations and determine whether the relationship feels like an appropriate fit.

If either person decides that the match is not right, let your instructor know and Function First Coaching Inc. will work to identify another potential client.

Q6. How will I be introduced to my client?

Once a potential match has been identified, your instructor will send an email introduction to both of you. You and your client will then arrange the chemistry conversation and schedule the six coaching sessions at mutually convenient times within the course period.

Q7. How are the client coaching sessions conducted?

You and your client will choose the format that works best for both of you. The first session is generally conducted through a secure video platform so you can establish the relationship face to face. The remaining sessions may take place by phone or through a secure online platform.
